A bullet hole through the Commodore's sailboat and an Alberta Supreme Court Case... rough first days for sailing in Calgary.
Since then, the Glenmore Sailing Club has established the largest sailing school in Canada, launched the Disabled Sailing Association of Alberta (sailing programs for Persons with Disabilities), and produced nationally and internationally recognized sailors.
2019 is the Club's 60th anniversary celebration year, and we're excited to share the vibrant history of sailing in Calgary with you.
Today the Club has evolved into a Community Sailing Club providing free learn to sail and free community sailing programs alongside the full range of continuing education, recreation, social and racing programs at the Club.
While most people are surprised there is sailing in Calgary... for six decades the Glenmore Sailing Club has been building the sailing community and supporting the recreation and sport of sailing.
