Basic Coastal Navigation

This introductory course offers basic knowledge of navigation theory and is the initial course in a comprehensive set of courses on vessel navigation to plan and safely navigate by day in Canadian coastal and inland local waters.

Course description and performance objectives.

Course Notes:

  1. Coastal Navigation is not required for the Club's Co-op Boat Program on the reservoir. 
  2. A coastal navigation course is optional prior to the Keelboat Cruising course as the Keelboat Cruising course and accompanying book cover the very fundamental and basic concepts needed for a course with an instructor onboard.
  3. Coastal Navigation is required to charter with the Club's Coastal Keelboat Program.
