Scouts Canada "Experience Sailing" ~ An Open House for Scouters and Parents

  • May 05, 2018
  • 09:00 - 12:00

Scouters and parents are invited to experience sailing at the Glenmore Sailing Club on a keelboat like this one.

Come and learn more about sailing and youth sailing education before recommending sailing for your group's youth.

Chinook Council has an agreement with Glenmore Sailing Club to allow Scouting youth to experience sailing and earn Scouts Canada sailing badges. The Scouts web page gives the full range of youth sailing opportunities ~ Introduction to Sailing, Summer Sailing Camps, Coastal Sailing trip, Scouting Regatta.

Through your time with us at this event, we hope to make sailing less complicated and show you some of the reasons why sailing is a great opportunity for youth to get outside into nature with other youth.

Adults will go out sailing on a keelboat (like this one below) with an experienced skipper. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, trim sails and steer if you'd like. We're here to make sailing easy and accessible.
