The Glenmore Sailing Club offers accessible, affordable learn to sail camps for youth in the heart of Calgary.
CanSail Advanced progressively builds and develops the skills in the Introduction to CanSail program, with a focus on keeping the sailor engaged with stage appropriate challenges and learning for ages 8-14. This program is taught in an Optimist Dinghy and introduces the sailor to racing. This program is taught by CYA accredited instructors.
This Week of CanSail Advanced will include racing at the club on Wednesday evening and the option to race at the club's regatta on July 20 and 21, 2013.
Sailing experience is required for this program. If you have any questions as to whether this program is suitable for your child, please email the Junior Sailing Coordinator or Head Instructor.
These camps include land-based and on-the-water education in the Optimist training sailboat. One of the most popular sailboats for youth, the Optimist is easy to learn and sail, even for the youngest child.
Camps are Monday - Friday from 9am until 4pm. We kindly request that each child is dropped off and picked up within 10 minutes of camps commencing or ending each day. If you are unable to do so, before and after camp care is available.
