Family Friday Evenings

These Friday evenings are free and open to all Members and their guests.

Sailors that have participated in our youth programs are also welcome to come out with their families.

Coaches will be available to provide supervision for youth that would like to go out in our Optimist sailboats.

Burgers and beverages are available for purchase up on the deck!

The goal of the Family Friday nights is to provide a fun and interactive sailing environment and an atmosphere for the family to enjoy a night together. Children maintain the skills that they have developed in camps or experience a very brief introduction to the sport of sailing.

SCHEDULE: Sailing will take place from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. It is important to note that this is a fair weather sailing program. It will be at the coach’s discretion whether it is appropriate for the children to go out that day. As it is a free drop in program, sessions are subject to cancellation for any reason.

PROGRAM COSTS: This program is provided FREE of cost by the club. A waiver must be filled out prior to you or your child’s on-water participation. Anybody using GSC equipment must sign in with a coach for each session before going sailing.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT: Although there will be a coach present, it is the responsibility of parents to look out for their children. We welcome adults on the dock and on the shore.

FINAL NOTE: Please leave all valuables at home as the clubhouse is open to all members at all times. The coaching staff and the club are not responsible for damaged or lost personal items.
