-        Ensure masts are supported adequately and tied down. Most boats should metal mast supports – use them.

-        May need to purchase wood, rope, etc. to build supports and secure the masts for travel.

-        Purchase tarps (~ 13ft x 24ft tarps) and rope to cover boats.  Drape tarp over the supported masts to shed snow and water

-        Check tire pressure and inflate as necessary before leaving the parking lot.

-        Remove sails from the boats and store in secure area to prevent damage by moisture, mice, etc.

-        Tow to designated locations, as directed by the Club Boat Coordinator.  Most going to Nollinds farm this year.

4.  Optimist Fleet                                                                                                         (4 people, + recruit juniors)

-        Empty out Optimist shed, clean out and re-arrange, as required

-        As directed by the Coach or Club Boat Coordinator, select boats requiring repair and load up on Opti trailer.

-        Pack all the Opti gear and boats away into the shed

-        Lean the bunks up against the shed.

-        Clean up around the Opti shed – make neat and tidy for the winter, rake leaves, trim grass, trim trees, pick up garbage, etc.   Weed wack near shed, as necessary.

-        Opti sails to be stored inside the Opti shed.

-        Ensure a proper lock is on the shed door.

5.  Lasers Fleet                                                                                                            (4 people, + recruit juniors)

-        Clean up Laser Shed (Grey Tent) and remove any unnecessary items.  Make sure nothing is touching the ground over the winter.

-        As directed by the Coach or Club Boat Coordinator, select Lasers that require repair and load up on trailer.

-        Take apart and place Laser dolleys into the Laser Shed (Grey Tent).

-        Clean up around the shed - make neat and tidy for the winter, rake leaves, trim grass, trim trees, pick up garbage, etc.   Weed wack the grass near the shed.

-        The remaining Lasers (those not going off site for repair) to be stored upside down on the racks or on bunks.

-        All laser sails to go into the shipping container to ensure they stay in good condition.

-        All of the foils, spars, etc. are to remain in the Laser Shed.

-        Ensure a proper lock is on the shed door.

6.  C420 Fleet                                                                                                               (4 people)

-        De-mast each of the C420’s, and store the hull upside down on the C420 rack.  Masts to be placed on the same racks.

-        Any C420 that cannot be stored on the racks to be stored upside down on bunks.

-        Sails to go into the shipping container to ensure they stay in good condition.

-        All of the foils, spars, spin poles, etc. are to remain in the Laser Shed (Grey Tent).

5.  29 ERs                                                                                                                     (4 Senior Youth)

-        De-mast boats and move all boats and gear up to the lawn near parking lot.

-        Store all of the gear inside the 29ER Trailer (blue trailer).

-        Sails to go into shipping container.

6.  MISC Boats, Trailers, Coach Boats, etc.                                                                 (2 people)

-        Requires two vehicles, 2” ball and 4 pin electrical.  Several trips required.

-        Remove outboard motors and place on wood stands inside shipping container.

-        Drain fuel from outboard motors.  Store gas cans near motors inside shipping container.

-        Get tarps and rope for the Enterprise, RIB, and Tinnie.

-        For the RIB, partially deflate air compartments, and cover with new tarps to prevent UV damage.

-        Trailers to be parked where designated by the Club Boat Coordinator.

-        Tinnie to be flipped over on its trailer so it does not collect water.

-        MOSS trailer to remain in the Heritage Gravel lot.

8.  Clean up Shipping Container                                                                                  (4 people)

-        Empty container and sweep out or hose out floor.

-        Take unneeded items to the garbage bin.  Lost and found items, anything broken or damaged.

-        Place back items that belong in container and leave a corridor clear for walking to the back.  Do not block access so that things are difficult to retrieve when needed.

-        Items to be stored in the shipping container include:

o    Racing Equipment, flags, pins, marks, anchors, etc.

o    BBQ.

o    Ladders and other oversized items.

o    Tool box, hand tools, garden hoses, garden tools, lawn maintenance stuff, etc.

o    Both coach boat motors, and fuel.

o    Sailing spare parts that cannot be stored in Opti or Laser / Byte Shed.  All of the sails to go in the container.  Sail to go up top and be supported by the rope.

o    Oversize or bulky stuff.

-        Use the above list as a guideline, consider storing items not on the above list inside the clubhouse, or elsewhere.

9.  Club House Grounds Clean Up                                                                               (4 people)

-        There is a pile of wooded debris near the Optis.   Needs to be removed to the boat patrol garbage bin, or to parking lot for removal to dump.   Use wheel barrow.

-        Empty plants from deck planters and turn over soil.

-        Walk around grounds and clean up any garbage\ litter.

-        Clean up under the deck - dig out wood and discard damaged or unneeded boards.  Place in garbage bin.

-        Remove picnic table from deck and store on grass next to the shipping container.  This way they are not conveniently there for the skate-boarders/skiers/tobogganers that seem to make use of them for ramps or landing strips off the roof of the club.   Also, makes it easier for the snow removal crew to keep the deck clear for winter events.

10.  Club House General Clean Up                                                                               (4 people)

-        Pack away unneeded tables & chairs.  Discard any poor quality chairs and place in garbage bin.

-        General tidy up of washrooms and office.

-        Cleaning Closet - Take a critical look at the cleaning supplies and equipment and discard any unneeded or damage stuff, as necessary.   Tidy and declutter the closet.

-        Scrub down kitchen to ensure it’s clean.   Empty fridges/freezer of any old food, etc.

-        Clean out electrical room and vacuum (use shop vac) and mop floor.  Note this room should not be used for the routine storage of office equipment, recycling pop cans, heavy ladders, etc.  It should be kept clear for easy access and to avoid any damage to the electrical equipment.  Only store shop vacuum and a few other key items.

-        Remove garden hose and store in shipping container.   Do not remove the hose reel.

-        Special tasks:

o    Remove tacks, stick-on plastic hooks, fishing line, etc. from the ceiling and wood beam.  Need long ladders or rental scaffolding.  Discuss with Neil Hay.

o    Pour 20 L of water down shower drains (fill P traps to prevent sewer gas).

o    Plug Wasp Hole and fix loose soffit board.

o    Move RIB and Kayak down to the boat yard.

11.  Special Project – Remove Permanent Picnic Tables                                                         (4 people)

-        The idea is to remove the two permanent/fixed picnic tables and replace with similar sized portable picnic tables.  Michelle has had numerous requests to remove tables or complaints about the picnic tables because they are in the best photograph location.  They are also damaged and vandalized so need either fixing or removing.

-        Need shovels, pick axes, and wheel barrow.

-        Rent electric chipping hammer from home depot.

-        Remove wood planks, sawzall the metal frame.  Then dig down about 18 inches, break out concrete, and remove.

-        Back fill with sand and soil.

-        Use wheel barrow to remove material to boat patrol bin, or parking lot for removal to the dump.
