2011 Glenmore Sailing Club Annual Banquet
Pirates of the Glenmore Reservoir – Saturday, November 5, 2011
Calling All Glenmore Sailors Pirates! After another great season of Calgary sailing, it’s time to hand out some hardware, share some tales from the high seas, revisit some highlight reel moments from the races, and celebrate with food, music and dancing! We’ve got a boat-load of booty to hand out, and we guarantee that the music will get you shakin’ it before the night’s through! Of course, there’ll be plenty of grog on hand so no pirates go thirsty.
So come on down – some of that hardware might just have your name on it! And even if it doesn’t, there’ll be plenty of friends, good food and good music to close the Glenmore sailing season with an exclamation!
Awards for Best Pirate Costumes
We were asked in no uncertain terms that attendees be allowed to come as they are (all piratey) and not have to dress up in civilian clothes. So come with your best pirate accessory (eye patch, peg leg, captain’s hat), or come in a full pirate kit if you choose. We’ll have a prize for the best dressed adult pirate and a prize for the best dressed junior pirate! Those who were there last year know there is some stiff competition to see who can unseat Captain Silkstone as best dressed pirate!
Entertainment
We’re excited to announce that we’ve got a fantastic band lined up who’ll get things moving with their own brand of jazzy pirate R&B with a little soul mixed in. Don’t miss out… reserve your tickets today!
