Spring Clean-Up and Mudflats Social

This is the first big volunteer event of the year as well as a good opportunity to log some credits and catch up with everyone before the new season starts.  As there is a lot to do we need anybody that can lend a hand for a half day or more.

This year the club will be providing a hamburger lunch and non-alcoholic drinks at noonish.  Alcoholic drinks will be on sale at discounted pricing at completion as we sit round and survey the accomplishments.

This year we want team leaders for the areas below who will be responsible for making sure that the volunteers know what to do, are given safety briefings and that things move along smoothly.  The areas, high level tasks and suggested teams are listed below.

Please during registration indicate a team and if you can be a lead, questions to
staff.captain@glenmoresailingclub.com.  The team leads are requested to be at the club at or before 9AM on the day of the cleanup.

1. Barge (Tim Griggs + 2)

- Prepare, launch & moor barge
- Set race markers

2. Laser Shed (Team Lead + 4 others)
- Empty, clean in and around the shed
- Clean, inspect, set up and cover the boats

3. Opti Shed (Team Lead + 4 others)

- Empty, clean in and around the shed
- Clean, inspect, set up and cover the boats

 4. Club House (Chris Laing + 10-14 others)
- Yard work (garbage, trimming, raking, pressure wash deck, etc.)
- Shipping container (general clean up)
- Club house spring clean (dusting, windows, etc.)
- TIF Team (“Things I Forgot”)

We will be working primarily outside other than those tasked with cleaning the club.  Please wear work clothes (gloves, etc.) and dress for the weather.  If you have hand tools that are suited to the tasks in your area please bring them along to help with efficiency.

If things go well and everyone shows up around 9AM then I hope we will be done mid-afternoon!!
