We look forward to seeing you on the water this year.
Sailing Access Fund for youth ages 12-30
Ships2Shores is committed to addressing the socioeconomic barriers associated with marine programming to encourage equitable access for all youth. The Ships2Shores Sailing Access Fund allows youth who would otherwise not be able to participate to experience the adventure and wonder of sailing by covering some or all fees associated with participation in sail training programs. Ships2Shores promotes diversity and inclusion aboard participating vessels and encourages all eligible youth to apply, regardless of ability, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. Priority is given to first time sailors and those with financial barriers to sailing.
In this part of Canada, youth participants go to the west coast to sail with SALTS (Sail and Life Training Society). Their website has information about the organization, upcoming season sailing trips and costs.
After this experience, come back to Calgary and continue sailing with the Glenmore Sailing Club on one of our co-op boats.
