Indoor Sailing (in January !)

Saturday January 26th, 3-5pm
The first event of the Glenmore Sailing Club's 60th anniversary year is "Indoor Sailing". We're very excited to partner with SAIT and be part of Sport Calgary's "All Sport One City".

This is the earliest the sailing season has ever started in Calgary.

All Sport One City is an opportunity for Calgarians to try a new sport or get back to one they previously enjoyed.

This introduction to sailing event is supported by Rogers Rent-All... their industrial fans along the length of the pool are providing the wind to move the boats.

And thanks also to Spectrum NDT Ltd. for the generators to power the fans! We appreciate the support of all the partners in making this event happen for the community.

Indoor Sailing
January 26, youth will have 30 minutes of "sailing and safety" instruction before getting into the boats in the pool for 30 minutes of sailing. The Club will have six of our Optimist sailboats in the pool for Indoor Sailing, and our volunteers will be in and around the pool for coaching and safety.

This discovery session is tailored to introducing the fundamentals of sailing to youth 13-18 years old up to 68 kg / 150 pounds. Sign up for Indoor Sailing at AllSportOneCity.ca

The pool at SAIT is in Building "V". Spectators welcome.

The Optimist is the most popular youth training sailboat on the planet (there are hundreds of thousands of these youth training sailboats enjoyed by youth around the globe).
